A post on the social media site showed the happy couple looking loved up as Boulter showed off her stunning diamond ring.

The upload was accompanied with the caption: “We’ve been keeping a small secret…”

Their announcement amassed well over 25,000 likes in under an hour as fans, friends and family congratulated the pair.

British tennis hero Laura Robson was amongst those to send their well-wishes to the future husband and wife.

Robson wrote: “You cutieesss. Best pre-season news ever”.

While PGA Tour golf star Min Woo Lee also commented: “Congrats y’all”.

Spanish tennis star Paula Badosa also passed on her congratulations.

Leicester-born Boulter, 28, and Aussie De Minaur, 25, have been dating since 2020.

The pair met on the pro tennis circuit and have been smitten ever since.

Boulter is currently ranked as world number 285, while De Minaur is world number nine in the men’s rankings.

The pair appear to have said “yes” in Alicante with Boulter sharing snaps from the Spanish city last week.

But there won’t be too much time to celebrate as the two stars could go from fiancee’s to foes when they potentially face off against each other in the United Cup.

Boulter recently opened up about how she’s “not thrilled” to be taking on her future husband in the competition.

She said: “I wouldn’t say I was thrilled at the idea of playing him all over again.

“He’s a top 10 player and he knows how to play tennis, so there’s one side of it. Then there’s the personal side of it which is difficult but also great for bragging rights.

“I’m looking forward to the match and I think it’s going to be a great atmosphere. Playing Australia is always going to be fun. We’re definitely going to be the underdogs so let’s put pressure on them.”

Great Britain and Australia have been drawn in the same group for the second year running, meaning that Boulter and De Minaur will be hoping that their other half might slip up.

With two singles matches and a mixed doubles in every United Cup clash, Boulter and De Minaur could even end up playing against each other if they are both selected for the doubles.
