But he has had notable defeats over the years and there is one that was tougher to take than the rest.
It came in a Masters final and O’Sullivan, 49, wishes he had the opportunity back as he feels he now knows what he would need to do to win.
He said on Pluto TV: “The one moment I think I’d like to change in my career…people probably think it’s an obvious one, when I walked out against Stephen Hendry (at the 2006 UK Championship).
“But it wasn’t that one because I wasn’t playing great then and I wasn’t in a good place.
“The one moment I really would like to change, when I played (John) Higgins in the final of the Masters (2006).
“I think I was 60 up in the last frame and I had a couple of chances and I just think now I would play the shot differently or I would probably be a bit more calmer under pressure.
“I think I got a bit tight, a bit quick, and Higgins cleared up.
“Most losses I take pretty well because it’s part and parcel of being a snooker player, you can’t win them all. But that one hit me hard. I didn’t recover well from that one.”

O’Sullivan’s crucial miss in the deciding frame of the 2006 Masters final allowed Higgins to clear up.
He later joked his opponent was a “lucky b*****d” after The Rocket – who has opened up on why he has ended up living in Dubai – missed a red when trying to cut it in the yellow pocket.
O’Sullivan responded in the best fashion by winning the following edition of the Masters – he went on to win it five more times in 2009, 2014, 2016, 2017 and 2024.
