THE HUNDRED could reportedly be axed and replaced by a new Twenty20 competition next year.
A possible change to the 100-ball setup is going to be discussed when the board meet in October.

The current format remaining the same is included in the deal struck with Sky Sports and the BBC, which does not expire until 2028.
But The Guardian claim both broadcasters are open to potentially switching it to a T20 event from next summer.
There is set to be a power shift at the top of the Hundred following the sales of the eight franchises.
A 20-man decision-making group will feature four members from the England and Wales Cricket Board.
There will also be two chiefs from each team involved and the new investors.
That adds up to mean the franchises are in control.
New investors want the switch to T20 so the Hundred is in line with other leagues across the world and the ECB are desperate to keep fans engaged with the action amid criticism of the current format.
T20 will also be in place when cricket makes its Olympics comeback at Los Angeles 2028.

The recent sale of the eight sides brought in a whopping £560million, which will be invested across 18 counties, the MCC and grassroots.
Chelsea owner Todd Boehly was involved in an American consortium that got 49 per cent of the Trent Rockets for £40m.
Owners of clubs in the Indian Premier League also snapped up four of the Hundred sides.
Player wages are set to rise as a result of the investment, with the top salary set to reach £300,000 by 2026.
On a possible change to the format, chief Vikram Banerjee said: “It would be slightly odd to bring all these great people in and leave it as it is.
“There are things the tournament has done brilliantly that we want to hold on to, and the core DNA of the tournament will carry on, but we’ll look to supercharge it.
“You want to see innovation and growth in new things. Other people will have great ideas and I’m looking forward to seeing what they are.”
