Furious Amorim reportedly damaged a TV screen in the home dressing room following United’s 3-1 defeat by Brighton.
And eagle-eyed fans were convinced they’d spotted a cut on the Portuguese gaffer’s hand a few days later.
Asked about his outburst ahead of United’s Europa League clash against Rangers, Amorim admitted: “I don’t promise I will not do it again. I don’t know, but I’ll try to improve.”
But Amorim’s outburst was minor in comparison to the carnage witnessed in days gone by.
SunSport presents some of the wildest behind the scenes incidents at Old Trafford, kicking off with a United legend…
Fergie decks Becks
Sir Alex Ferguson wasn’t one to suffer fools gladly.
The Scot’s most high-profile bust-up with one his stars came in the shape of poster-boy David Beckham.
He was furious at his side’s FA Cup exit to Arsenal in 2003 and singled Becks out for his poor performance in the dressing room.

Beckham revealed he swore at Fergie after the boss criticised him for failing to follow his runner in the build up to a goal.
The pair effed and blinded before Fergie kicked Ole Gunnar Solskjaer‘s boot, which slapped Becks in the face and cut his eye.
The England legend had a furious reaction to being hit, adding: “I went at him – someone had to hold me back.”
Less than half a year later, Beckham was headed to Real Madrid after Fergie washed his hands of him.

Pizzagate at the Battle of the Buffet
An excerpt from Ashley Cole‘s autobiography may sound like a tale from a school dinner hall.
Arsenal and United clashed in the tunnel after the Red Devils ended the Gunners’ 49-match unbeaten run with a 2-0 win in a bad-tempered match.
The turmoil saw an Arsenal player launch a slice of PIZZA at Ferguson, who was caught in the crossfire.
Cesc Fabregas, then 17, was revealed as the culprit, which he admitted in 2017 after Cole revealed a fuming Arsene Wenger hurled abuse.
Fabregas told ITV Sport: “The first thing that occurred to me was to throw the pizza because I didn’t have the power or the courage maybe to go into that fight.
“They were monsters in there. They were super, super big guys.”
Ferguson said: “The next thing I knew I had pizza all over me. We put food into the away dressing room after every game.
“Pizza, chicken. Most clubs do it. They say it was Fabregas who threw the pizza at me but to this day, I have no idea who it was.”

Milk over Mourinho
Agent of chaos Jose Mourinho, 54, got a taste of his own medicine when Man City beat United 2-1 at Old Trafford in 2017.
The Special One was at the centre of a 20-man corridor bust-up after City moved 11 points clear at the top of the Prem.
Raging Mourinho barged into the away dressing room to confront Pep Guardiola’s players over their “raucous” celebrations.
Milk, water and a bottle were reportedly thrown at Mourinho at the height of the ruck, although those were being downplayed the next day.
Mikel Arteta, who was an assistant at City before taking the reigns at Arsenal, was left with a cut on his head.
Mourinho is understood to have accused City keeper Ederson of lacking “respect” but no-one took the blame for the throw.

Evra vs Suarez 2.0
Rivalries don’t come much fiercer than United and Liverpool‘s.
Their storied history has featured countless flashpoints.
But in the Premier League era, few stand out more than their clash at Old Trafford back in February 2012.
It’s what had happened in the reverse fixture at Anfield four months prior which added fuel to the already ferocious fire.
Luis Suarez had been given an eight-game ban for racially abusing Patrice Evra.
The livewire striker refused to shake Evra’s hand upon their reunion and booted the ball in the direction of the United dugout before the break, lighting a match which didn’t fully spark until after full-time.
Evra exacted revenge by over celebrating their 2-1 win in front of Suarez at full-time.
The fight in the tunnel wasn’t caught on camera but Rio Ferdinand allegedly clocked Dirk Kuyt on the sly, on the cheek.

Roy Keane’s bombshell rant
The former United’s captain’s infamous October 2005 rant on MUTV ended his Old Trafford career.
Keane singled out six of his own team-mates individually plus those emerging from the academy ranks following a dismal 4-1 defeat at Middlesbrough.
His criticism was considered so severe that United’s management intervened to ensure it was never broadcast.
Keane spoke of how coldly Ferguson and Gill handled his exit in a blunt 10-minute meeting, leaving him and his solicitor stunned.
Keane told the Stick to Football podcast, brought to you by Sky Bet: “I get my anger is obviously a long time ago but the worst anger you can have is the justified anger where you feel – again I feel – I hadn’t done anything wrong.”
Keane, who had made 480 appearances for the club, left by mutual consent in November 2005, joining Celtic a month later.
