A THIEF led cops on “Britain’s slowest police chase” after he tried to escape at 5mph in a car with burst tyres.
Euton Rook was wanted for shoplifting when police saw his Ford Mondeo in a village and signalled him to stop.

But the 42-year-old refused and ploughed into a stinger device which popped every tyre.
Comical dashcam footage showed him driving on for two minutes in Swarkestone, Derbys, on August 18.
When police pulled in front of the Mondeo, Rook hit a crash barrier, rammed a cop car and injured an officer.
After the footage was put online, a viewer commented: “I don’t think there’s been a slower pursuit in Britain. Brilliant stuff.”
Checks found Rook was wanted for recall to prison and for thefts from a Greggs and Co-op.
He had taped over the number plate as the car had been used in several shop thefts.
At Southern Derbyshire magistrates court Rook admitted theft, failing to stop, driving offences, criminal damage and assault.
He was jailed for 41 weeks, given a drive ban and must pay damages to the injured officer and the two shops.
