THREE people have died after a fire ripped through a home, with cops also injured.
Police, fire and ambulance crews responded to reports of the blaze in Rushton, near Kettering, in Northamptonshire, at 10.30pm on Friday night.
However, despite the best efforts of emergency services at the scene on Beswick Close, three people were confirmed to have died.
Northamptonshire Police and Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service are conducting an investigation into the cause of the fire.
Three police officers also required hospital assessment due to smoke inhalation.
A neighbour told the Northamptonshire Telegraph: “It’s absolutely shocking. My lad said it was on fire. There was a man who had tried to get in who was outside. It was just an inferno.
“There were ambulance, police and fire. I don’t know the people who live there but all we can do is hope and pray.”
The home appears to be a vicarage or converted church, and has previously served as a train station, with a train line running behind the building.
Anyone with information is asked to call Northamptonshire Police on 101 quoting incident reference 25000180391.
