A CONTROLLING boyfriend who made his ex eat photos of her loved ones as a sick punishment has been jailed again for chucking a bottle at his new partner.

Craig Thomas had just been released from a ten-year sentence when he hurled the Lucozade at his partner after she reprimanded him for littering.

The 42-year-old has been jailed for nine months at Cardiff Magistrates’ Court after admitting controlling behaviour and causing actual bodily harm.

Sickeningly the thug could be freed again by January after serving more than half his sentence remanded in custody.

Speaking about the latest attack, prosecutor Mike Curry said: “She was driving when he tore the wrapper off a bottle of Lucozade and threw it out the car window.

“[The victim] made a comment about it and he threw the plastic bottle into her face.

“It caused swelling and bruising to her cheek and she had to stop at a shop to get an ice pack for it.”

Thomas was caged for ten years in 2013 after he brutally attacked his ex Charlotte Rooks.

The 6ft 2ins brute forced Charlotte to eat photos and jewellery of dead loved ones and forced her to sleep naked standing up.

He also beat her with hammers and stabbed her in the back in a horrific campaign of violence.

How you can get help

Women’s Aid has this advice for victims and their families:

Always keep your phone nearby.
Get in touch with charities for help, including the Women’s Aid live chat helpline and services such as SupportLine.
If you are in danger, call 999.
Familiarise yourself with the Silent Solution, reporting abuse without speaking down the phone, instead dialing “55”.
Always keep some money on you, including change for a pay phone or bus fare.
If you suspect your partner is about to attack you, try to go to a lower-risk area of the house – for example, where there is a way out and access to a telephone.
Avoid the kitchen and garage, where there are likely to be knives or other weapons. Avoid rooms where you might become trapped, such as the bathroom, or where you might be shut into a cupboard or other small space.

If you are a victim of domestic abuse, SupportLine is open Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 6pm to 8pm on 01708 765200. The charity’s email support service is open weekdays and weekends during the crisis – [email protected].

Women’s Aid provides a live chat service – available weekdays from 8am-6pm and weekends 10am-6pm.

You can also call the freephone 24-hour National Domestic Abuse Helpline on 0808 2000 247.

Thomas was released in 2018 after serving half his sentence but was taken back into custody after starting a relationship with his new girlfriend.

He was set free again after she was informed of his record of violence against women.

As well as the latest jail sentence, Thomas was handed a ten-year restraining order.
