FORMER NFL quarterback and college football icon Tim Tebow nearly joined the WWE in a stunning career venture.
While appearing on The Pat McAfee Show, WWE president Nick Kahn revealed a past pitch idea that would’ve brought Tebow to the wrestling world after his NFL retirement.

On Tuesday, the WWE finalized a lucrative broadcasting deal with Netflix.
As a result, the streaming platform giant will be the new home of Raw starting in 2025.
McAfee brought on the WWE president Khan on his self-titled ESPN show as he discussed the wrestling company’s future.
Khan also revealed a secret meeting in 2013 that involved Tebow.
The meeting took place when the then-third-year NFL quarterback was released by the New England Patriots in August 2013.
At the time, Khan was a high-profile sports media agent.
Khan revealed that Paul Levesque, also known as Triple H, called him about setting up a WrestleMania match between Tebow and Paul Wright, also known as the Big Show.
“Tim and I had then a top secret private meeting — Tim Tebow, myself, Vince McMahon, Triple H in Anaheim, California, about that,” Khan told McAfee.
However, the match wouldn’t come to fruition as Tebow still sought NFL opportunities.
The Florida Gators legendary quarterback would begin his broadcasting career with ESPN’s SEC Network in 2013.
He would go on to have short tenures in the NFL with the Philadelphia Eagles and Jacksonville Jaguars, and even play in MLB’s minor leagues, joining the New York Mets minor league system.
But Tebow wouldn’t appear in an NFL game again.
Tebow was a 2010 Denver Broncos first-round pick after winning two national championships and a Heisman Trophy.
Khan, meanwhile, would develop a business relationship with Triple H and the WWE.
After helping WWE’s TV rights deals in 2018, Khan would become the company’s President and Chief Revenue Officer and was their co-CEO alongside Stephanie McMahon, Triple H’s wife.
Khan is now the WWE president as the company has attempted to bring on celebrities for WrestleMania over the last decade.
