The match had resumed for the second half, with Liverpool leading 2-1 thanks to Marcos Llorente‘s controversial goal late in the first period.
Liverpool were on the attack when they gave away a foul in their opponents box, which was when Fletcher’s chair gave way somehow, causing the commentator to laugh and reveal the same had happened to his colleague earlier in the game.
He said: “My chair’s gone as well now Ally!
“We’ve got collapsing chairs, yours in the first half and mine in the second.”
He clearly saw the funny side of the situation, relaying the story with a laugh.
“Oh dear,” Fletcher chuckled as he tried to compose himself again.
Fans appeared to have picked up on McCoist’s chair troubles earlier in the game, with some taking to social media to discuss the amusing moment.
One Liverpool fan commented: “Not Ally McCoist falling off his chair on commentary.”

A second fan said “Ally McCoist loves Mo Salah so much he’s just fallen off his chair.”
A third fan made a joke aimed at the beloved pundits Scottish nationality: “Ally McCoist falling off his chair, too much Irn-bru.”
As funny as the situation was, it was the game itself that stole the headlines.
The hosts got off to a flyer with two goals in the opening six minutes, courtesy of Andy Robertson and Mo Salah.
Two goals in reply from serial Liverpool villain Llorente brought the scoreline level heading into added time at Anfield.
But Reds captain Virgil van Dijk came to the rescue with a towering header across goal in the 92nd minute to secure his side a win in their Champions League opener.
Atletico boss Diego Simeone was distraught after the late winner and seemed to take issue with something said in the crowd.
The Argentine bos seemed to try and barge his way into the stands and had to be held back by stewards before being sent off by the referee.
