THE BBC is in total denial about its political bias and the wretched unfairness of the tax which funds it.
But it will never change without force — and the Tories have wasted years muttering about it without ever acting.

We welcome, though, that Ofcom will at least now have a remit to police slanted reporting on the BBC’s news website.
Most days it’s an even more thinly- disguised propaganda arm of the Labour Party than the news bulletins.
The very fact the site’s front page was bereft of coverage of the critical review into the corporation for most of yesterday tells its own story.
Meanwhile the BBC’s laughable boast that “no other organisation takes its commitment to impartiality more seriously” only proves how entrenched its bias and denial is.
Its news staff are overwhelmingly left-liberal social justice warriors, many of whom think Tories are “far-Right”, 17.4million Brexiteers are racist extremists, Israel is a malevolent oppressor and Hamas are noble freedom fighters.
A balanced debate, to them, is the centre-left versus the slightly-further-to-the-left.
While Britain’s biggest problems are a supposed lack of diversity, a refusal to panic over climate change and a failure to fully atone for slavery two centuries ago.
They may even genuinely consider themselves impartial, if only because they are too far gone to know what impartiality actually entails.
The fact their journalism is funded by forcing us to pay a TV tax, or be criminalised by the aggressive BBC itself, is a jaw-dropping anachronism in 2024 as well as a rank injustice.
But, for all Culture Secretary Lucy Frazer’s admirable opposition to that, let us be blunt.
The Tories have had 14 years to turn it around, correct its bias, force it to represent the silent majority and scrap the licence . . . and they haven’t.
They have talked tough under five Prime Ministers about decriminalising non-payment and nothing has changed.
Indeed No10 now says that cannot even be discussed until the charter comes up for renewal in 2027.
So the Beeb will just shrug and sit tight.
Because long before 2027, if the polls are right, we will have a Labour Government which will NEVER clip the BBC’s wings.

Scaffolder Louis Grieves acted for millions when he leapt from his van to clear Just Stop Oil’s apocalypse fantasists from blocking enraged commuters in London as police stood feebly by.
Instead HE was manhandled, nicked and put through eight months of legal purgatory by the Met before the case was dropped.
What a disgraceful farce.
But no wonder Louis upset the cops.
He showed them exactly how the eco loons SHOULD be handled.
