He scored six goals and picked up eight assists and was called up to the national team for the first time.

Now Tottenham are considering a move for the attacking midfielder in light of James Maddison‘s injury news, according to The Times.

The England star tore his ACL in a friendly against Newcastle and is expected to miss most of the season.

But Como do not want to sell Paz, who arrived from Real Madrid last year in a £5million deal.

The Spanish giants could complicate Spurs’ move too as they hold a number of buy-back clauses and the right to match any bids.

Real decided against activating a £7m option this summer but could choose to re-sign him for £8m next summer or £10m the following year.

Spurs previously registered an interest in signing Nottingham Forest talisman Morgan Gibbs-White but he instead signed a new contract.

Boss Thomas Frank confirmed the club is still in the market for reinforcements.

He said: “It’s obviously devastating for me and mainly for Madders that he’s out. The team will miss him and no doubt he will miss playing football.

“I think we are definitely in the market in general. Of course, when players get a long-term injury we need to look into that, but generally we are in the market, yes.”
