A rejuvenated Tottenham clash with struggling Manchester City in the Premier League on Wednesday.

And in addition to maximum points, there’s also somewhat niche record on the line.

Tottenham have beaten Manchester City twice and Manchester United three times in all competitions this season – no team has ever beaten both Manchester sides three times each in the same campaign before.

That would obviously be an additional bonus to claiming a fourth successive Premier League win that could help Tottenham challenge for a top-half finish.

Spurs have beaten Brentford, Manchester United and Ipswich Town in their last three league outings, meaning they boast the longest winning run in the division.

Its also the first time they’ve achieved three-consecutive wins since December 2023.

With injuries having subsided and no participation in either the FA Cup or Carabao Cup, Ange Postecoglou has Cleary enjoyed the benefits of some extra rest and working with his players on the training pitch.

“We’re certainly in a good space,” Postecoglou said.

The same cannot be said for Pep Guardiola’s side, who meekly succumbed to Premier League leaders Liverpool at the Etihad on Sunday.

The defeat followed their disastrous trip to Real Madrid and exit from the Champions League – leaving then with just a top-four finish and the FA Cup to salvage such a disappointing campaign.

As mentioned, a trip to Tottenham might not be the antidote Pep would be hoping for.

Following their 4-0 win the reverse fixture, Spurs are looking to do the league double over Man City, who’ve lost six of their last eight visits – five without scoring a goal.

The Cityzens have also failed to win any of their last three Premier League away games against London sides (D2 L1).

Brennan Johnson’s return to the scene has seen Tottenham clinch victories over both Manchester United and Ipswich Town – the latter with a brace in the space of eight first-half minutes.

The Wales international, 23, also scored the fourth against Pep Guardiola’s side earlier this season with his tally now at 14 goals in 34 appearances.

His direct running and timely runs should cause huge headaches for Manchester City, who’ve conceded 15 goals in their last six away games in all competitions.
