Tragedy as ‘bright soul & talented’ carpentry apprentice, 18, dies while working on home

TRIBUTES have poured in for a “bright soul” carpentry apprentice who died while working at home days before Christmas.

Chloe Bidwell, 18, passed away following an incident at a property in Bangor, North Wales, on Wednesday.

Her death on Deiniol Road is not being treated as suspicious but police are investigating the circumstances, Daily Post reported.

Coleg Menai paid tribute to a “talented carpentry apprentice” who studied with them and “won numerous national awards”.

Remembering Chloe as “well-liked by everyone”, they added: “We know that her loss will be felt by many and we send our heartfelt condolences to her family and friends.”

Staff and students at her former school, Ysgol Uwchradd Caergybi in Holyhead, were devastated by the death of “cherished” Chloe.

In a post on Facebook, they added: “Her infectious energy, kindness, dedication and her vibrant spirit that lit up the classroom effortlessly won the hearts of every staff member.”

And they paid tribute to a woman with “boundless potential” who “flew the flag for female construction workers“.

A North Wales Police spokesman said: “Police attended a property on Deiniol Road in Bangor on Wednesday December 20th following a report of the unexpected death of an 18-year-old woman.

“The coroner and Health and Safety Executive have been informed and we continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death, which is not being treated as suspicious.”
