A MAN has died after collapsing at the Great Manchester Run.
The 40-year-old – who has not been named – is understood to have received medical treatment after falling ill at Sunday’s half marathon before he was taken to hopsital, where he later died.

Tributes have been pouring in with the event organisers the Great Run Company offered “heartfelt condolences to the participant’s family and friends”.
The runner was one of around 30,000 people taking part in yesterday’s event.
The Great Manchester Run – which also includes a 10k run – was broadcast live on BBC One.
It took a familiar route, beginning on Portland Street and finishing on Deansgate.
Runners also made their way past Manchester United’s Old Trafford stadium during the route.
