A 60-year-old man has died after reportedly leaping into the sea to help two struggling children.
The man’s heroic actions saw him jump into the sea shortly after 4pm yesterday in an attempt to save two children in “distress.”

The incident occurred on May 25 near the promenade in Ingoldmells, close to Skegness.
The 60-year-old died despite the coast guard, an air ambulance and the RNLI rushing to assist.
Police have yet to release any further information about the heroic man.
No further information on the youths the man was seeking to assist has been released.
The man is said to have gotten into difficulty during his heroic rescue attempt and died at the scene.
Lincolnshire Police said: “A 60-year-old man has sadly died after entering the water to help two children who appeared to be in distress.
“The man reportedly entered the sea just after 4pm today (25 May) close to the Promenade in Ingoldmells, he got into difficulty and sadly died at the scene.
“Our thoughts are with the man’s family and loved ones at this very sad time.”
