A HEARTBROKEN family has paid tribute to a teen who was tragically killed in a horror crash just before Christmas.

Billy Hollingsworth, 18, was killed in a fatal accident between a car and a lorry in Hereford in the early hours of December 16.

The tragic smash happened when the blue Vauxhall Corsa and the lorry collided on the A4103 in Yarkhill.

Cops said the Billy died at the scene, while the lorry driver was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Mr Hollingsworth’s family have shared a heartfelt tribute to their “beautiful Billy,” saying his death has “left a void” in their lives.

They said: “Our Billy tragically died in a car accident on December 16, changing our lives forever.

“His life was far too short but he was loved so deeply and he loved us all in return.

“He leaves a void in the lives of so many, his beloved mum Kate and brother Jake, his grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, his girl Chloe, and hoards of friends who cherished and loved him dearly. He will remain a part of all of our hearts.”

Billy’s family described him as loyal, kind-hearted, playful and fun-loving.

His Dad died when he was just a baby and his mother Kate said the second loss was a “unimaginable.”

She said: “To lose his dad and now losing Billy is an unimaginable tragedy, a grief too big.

“I hadn’t finished looking after him.

“The only way forward is with my son Jake close by and the support of our wonderful family and friends.

“We will look for the glimmers of love and hope all around us.”

Billy was working at Urban Barbers in Hereford at the time of the crash.

His family said he had just started his career as a barber after training in Manchester and had dreams of returning to the city to start a family.

They added: “These dreams will never come to pass and we grieve the life he doesn’t get to lead.

“He was very funny and lit up the room with his dazzling smile and his perfect hair.

“He loved spending time with his family and friends and he loved to dance.”

A funeral will be held for Billy at Hereford Cathedral on January 23 at 1pm before a wake at the Green Dragon.

West Mercia Police is appealing for witnesses, or anyone with relevant dashcam footage.
