The prosecutor revealed Wilson, 37, was “deceased” and had passed away on February 14.

A spokeswoman for Hampshire Coroner’s Office said the provisional cause of death was hanging.

Wilson had been charged with raping a girl under 13 and causing a girl aged five to engage in sexual activity.

Both alleged offences were said to have taken place in East Yorkshire in 2011.

She had also been charged with sexually assaulting a three-year-old boy and causing a boy of the same age to engage in sexual activity.

These counts allegedly took place in Southampton in 2017 and 2020.

Prosecutor Matthew Lawson said: “The defendant is now deceased. I have seen an interim death certificate.

“In the circumstances the matter must be discontinued.”

An inquest at Portsmouth Coroner’s Court heard Wilson died in Southsea, Hampshire, two days after her first appearance.

Her death is not being treated as suspicious and a full inquest has been listed for January 20, 2026.

Hampshire Constabulary said: “Officers will continue to engage with all parties based on the current circumstances.”
