HERE at Dream Team HQ we understand that you may not have the time to pore over all the stats from an action-packed weekend.

Most Mondays this season we will endeavour to provide a neat summation of some intriguing numbers that may have escaped your attention.

These observations may not necessarily shape your strategy but the more informed you are the better you will perform over the campaign.

You never know what tiny detail might blossom into something significant.

Trevoh Chalobah’s timely bonus

Chelsea’s homegrown centre-back was the unexpected hero of Saturday lunchtime’s West London derby.

The 26-year-old banked 17 points via a clean sheet, assist, five tackles and five bonus points.

Chalobah won three fouls and registered four interceptions on his way to 13 player performance marks (PPM), hence maximum bonus points.

He’s now Dream Team’s leading defender and looks a useful option in Levi Colwill’s (£3.5m) absence.

Who needs Mbeumo or Wissa?

Igor Thiago (£3.1m) is one of just three players to have scored three goals across the first three Gameweeks, alongside Erling Haaland (£7.5m) and Lucas Paqueta (£3.7m).

The Brentford striker might have been the outright top goalscorer had he been allowed to take his side’s penalty against Sunderland on Saturday — Kevin Schade (£3.7m) saw his effort saved.

Thiago is level on points (30) with Haaland and Joao Pedro (£4.6m).

Spurs draw a blank

Brennan Johnson (£4.9m) and Richarlison (£3.5m) were the two most popular recruits prior to Gameweek 3 only for Tottenham to produce their most toothless performance in years.

Thomas Frank’s side mustered just five shots and 0.17 xG, their lowest figure in the league since 2021.

Cherry picking

Spurs came up against a well-drilled Bournemouth side at their best.

David Brooks (£2.3m) was one of several impressive performers for the visitors.

In just 64 minutes, the Welsh midfielder registered four tackles, two shots on target and two big chances created for an eight-point haul.

He’s now created five big chances created this season — no other player has four to their name at this stage.

Lock the Palace gates

Crystal Palace’s five defenders combined for a whopping 57 points at Villa Park on Saturday night.

Obviously, the Eagles’ clean sheet was significant but far from the only factor in their collective success.

Marc Guehi (£3.9m) got on the scoresheet in his farewell appearance for the club while Maxence Lacroix (£3.7m) provided the assist for the third and final goal.

Wing-backs Daniel Munoz (£5.5m) and Tyrick Mitchell (£4m) made six tackles each — the latter now leads the way for tackles among all players with 14.

Palace defenders will be very popular once their Conference League double Gameweeks are a regular occurrence.

Jack the lad

It’s still early days but Jack Grealish (£3.4m) looks a player reborn at Everton.

The 29 year-old midfielder provided his third and fourth assists of the campaign when the Toffees beat Wolves on Saturday — twice as many as his nearest rival in the metric.

Just as impressive was his massive haul of 17 PPM which resulted in a maximum haul of five bonus points.

Grealish completed five dribbles and won SEVEN fouls as his quick feet bewitched the home side’s hapless defenders.

Incredibly, he’s now the most popular midfielder in the game!

Hammer blows

Graham Potter has been under pressure at the start of this season but his substitutions were influential in West Ham’s victory over Nottingham Forest.

In his first game back from a lengthy injury absence, Crysencio Summerville (£3m) registered two assists in just eight minutes as the Hammers unleashed a late blitz at the City Ground to win 3-0.

Callum Wilson (£2.3m) replaced Niclas Fullkrug (£2.8m) midway through the second half and recorded four shots on target, with one finding the net.

For comparison, Hugo Ekitike (£5.5m), Bruno Fernandes (£5.8m) and Joao Pedro (£4.6m) have all registered three shots on target each across the first three Gameweeks.

Despite defeats to Sunderland, Chelsea and Wolves, in Lucas Paqueta (£3.7m) and Jarrod Bowen (£5m) West Ham boast the joint-first and joint-third best performers in Dream Team at the first international break.
