Tributes to woman found dead at Scots home on New Year’s Day as cops arrest husband

A HUSBAND has been arrested after his wife was found dead at their home on New Year’s Day.

Naso Isaacs, 33, was discovered by officers after they received a report of concern for the mum-of-three’s wellbeing.

Paramedics also raced to the scene in North Berwick, East Lothian at 8.20am but she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Mompati Dodo Isaacs, 37, has been arrested in connection with the death as enquiries into the sudden tragedy continue.

It’s believed the couple are originally from Otse, Botswana and have been living in the sleepy town for around six months.

A neighbour said: “This kind of tragedy never happens in North Berwick – it’s shaken the whole town.

“The police arrived here on New Year’s morning and they haven’t been away since.

“She was a loving mum to her boys who must be absolutely devastated with that happened.”

Forensic officers were seen at the property today in the shadow of North Berwick Law.

They were later seen removing evidence bags from the two storey home.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 8.20am on Monday, 1 January, 2024, police were called to a property in Craigleith Avenue, North Berwick, following a report of concern.

“Emergency services attended and a 33-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

“A 37-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the death and enquiries are continuing.”
