DONALD Trump’s praise for Prince William scrubbed Harry out of history books, an expert claimed.
The US President took a subtle swipe at the Duke in his speech at the lavish state banquet on his historic two-day visit this week.

“This is truly one of the highest honours of my life, I have such respect for you and such respect for your country for many decades,” he said.
And, when praising Prince William, Trump said that the King had raised a “remarkable son”.
This comment seemed to ignore Prince Harry, who stepped back from his Royal duties to lead a new life in America in 2020.
Trump also took a subtle dig at the Prince’s philanthropic work.
He said that King has “uplifted the poor, cared for rural farmers, and tended to wounded veterans like nobody else.”
On The Sun’s Royal Exclusive Show, our Royal Editor Matt Wilkinson asked experts what they thought of Trump referring to King Charles’ “son” in the singular.
He said: “When Donald Trump turned to William and said ‘his Majesty has also raised a remarkable son in his Royal Highness Prince of Wales’ he didn’t mention Harry.
“Are we reading too much into that?”
Commentator Samara Gill said the speech highlighted the US leader’s “hatred” for Harry and Meghan.
She said: “I think he completely scrubbed Harry’s name out of the history books.
“I do think when he put that intonation, son, he didn’t say sons. That was a very sort of solid, no, this is who I prefer. And we know his hatred for Harry and Meghan.
“He’s spoken about that very publicly. So I do think it was on purpose.
“And honestly, Trump’s not wrong.”
However Dickie Arbiter – who was a press spokesperson for the late Queen – disagreed.
He said: “I don’t think you should read too much into that. I mean, William was there. William is the heir to the throne. He knows William.
“He doesn’t know Harry. He hasn’t met Harry, but he knows William.
“He was referring to William as a remarkable son because he is the man who is eventually going to be our sovereign.”
This comes after the Duke flew home to the US after a four-day visit which included meeting his dad King Charles for the first time in 19 months.
Harry saw his father in Clarence House, London, after the King flew from Balmoral between three official audiences – before being pictured on his way back to Scotland.
The pair shared a “private tea”, which lasted 55 minutes – almost double the time Harry got last year.
William was not at the tea party as he was travelling back from an engagement in Wales.
Harry had not seen Charles since he jetted back for 30 minutes last February, after the King’s cancer announcement.
After arriving late at a glitzy Invictus Games reception hours after the reunion, Harry said of the King, “yes he’s great, thank you”.
The Duke also discussed the reunion while on a surprise trip to Kyiv, Ukraine, just days after the face-to-face meeting between the pair.
And when quizzed on the possibility of further meetings with the King, Harry said: “The focus really has to be on my dad”.
He also leapt to the defence of his controversial memoir, Spare, claiming his “conscience is clear”.
Speaking to The Guardian, the Duke said: “I know that (speaking out) annoys some people and it goes against the narrative.
“It was a series of corrections to stories already out there. One point of view had been put out and it needed to be corrected.
“It was a difficult message, but I did it in the best way possible. My conscience is clear. It is not about revenge, it is about accountability.”
After his four-day trip, a spokesperson for Harry told how he “loved catching up with old friends” and colleagues.
Harry also admitted he wants to spend more time in the country.
When asked if he would bring his children, Archie, six, and Lilibet, four, he responded: “This week has definitely brought that closer.”
Harry was invited to visit the besieged nation by the Ukrainian Government with his Invictus Games Foundation team.
The Duke visited an orthopaedic clinic and rehabilitation centre for adults and children affected by the war.
He also participated in a discussion panel paying tribute to “the wives and mothers who keep their loved ones on the straight and narrow.”
Harry was asked for advice for those leaving military service and who may miss the camaraderie.
The Duke responded: “You will feel lost at times, like you lack purpose, but there is light at the end of the tunnel.
“You just need to look for it, because there will always be someone – a mother, father, sibling, friend, or comrade – there to pick you up.
“Don’t stay silent. Silence will hold you in the dark.
“Open up to your friends and family because in doing so you give them permission to do the same.”
Harry and the Invictus Games Foundation are working on a strategy to support those affected by the three-year war with Russia.
He announced his arrival to Ukraine on Friday morning when pictures were released of him greeting veterans and officials.
During his visit to the war torn country, he spoke with the minister for veteran affairs Natalia Kalmykova.
They discussed ways the Invictus Games can improve support for wounded and sick personnel and veterans.
On Wednesday, the Sussexes’ charitable foundation, Archewell, donated £369,000 to support injured children in Gaza and Ukraine.
The money will help the World Health Organisation with medical evacuations and fund prosthetics for seriously injured youths.
Inside Prince William and Prince Harry’s ‘feud’
TENSIONS have been running high in the royal family since Prince Harry stepped down from royal duties in 2020 and relocated to California with Meghan Markle.
Their last reported interaction was during the funeral of their grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, in September 2022, but conversations were said to be brief.
The feuding brothers reportedly did not speak to each other despite standing “virtually back to back” among mourners at their uncle’s memorial service last year.
Growing up, Wills and Harry shared many of the same friends who were part of their close, tight-knit circle.
But their relationship took a sour turn after Harry lobbed vile allegations against the Prince of Wales in his memoir Spare – and they are said to have not been in direct contact since the 2023 release.
In the book, he claimed William had physically attacked him and knocked him to the floor in 2019 and made insulting comments about Meghan.
The Sussexes had also targeted Princess Kate, when Meghan claimed the royal made her cry.
The bitter feud was ignited when the Sussexes told Oprah, in their 2021 sit down interview, that certain members of the Royal Family had speculated about Prince Archie’s skin colour.
It was later claimed the royals were Princess Kate and King Charles, after Harry and Meghan’s former pal Omid Scobie published his book Endgame.
During the infamous Oprah interview, the duchess also made stinging comments about the Firm and how they handled her mental health struggles.
Prince William and Harry’s bond then worsened after the Sussexes made a number of accusations against the Royal Family in their 2022 Netflix docuseries.
The duke has given subsequent interviews, such as his most BBC chat in May 2025, that have only propelled bad blood.
