A TUBE driver who led an anti-Iseael chant on a train has been stood down, TfL has confirmed.
Footage of the London Underground driver chanting “free, free Palestine” started circulating on Saturday.
Outrage was spreading earlier over a video circulating of a Tube driver leading passengers on chants of ‘Free Palestine’Getty
Met Police and Transport for London had said they were investigating, with TfL last night claiming it didn’t know who was responsible.
But the capital’s transport giant has now confirmed the man has been suspended while they probe the incident.
The clip sparked outrage seeing dozens put pressure on officials to sack the driver.
A Home Office source called the chanting on the Central Line travelling towards mass protests at Marble Arch “an insult”.
There was further anger at cops who looked on as an Islamist group at the demo yelled “jihad”.
The Met and London Underground have also begun investigations into the Central Line chanting.
In the clip, the driver is heard on the tannoy saying: “So as I feel a part of it . . . kindly join me as we proceed to Bond Street.”
He then shouts “Free, free” eight times as passengers reply “Palestine”.
A spokesman for Campaign Against Antisemitism said: “This grossly unprofessional conduct is shocking . . . and dangerous.
“Imagine being a Jewish person on that train. As it appears in the footage, this incident is a disgrace to TfL.”
Last night, a TfL spokesman said: “We will be scrutinising the footage to establish if it was a driver and who they were.”
The Met Police said it identified a man involved in Saturday’s “jihad” calls and “discouraged a repeat of similar chanting”.
