Two children, woman & two men killed in horror M6 crash which has left third child seriously injured

FIVE people including two children have died in a motorway horror crash – with a third child seriously injured.

A Skoda and a Toyota were involved in the collision which took place on the M6 Northbound past Tebay Services at around 4.04pm yesterday.

A man, a woman, and two children from Glasgow, who were in the Toyota, also died at the scene.

A third child, who was in the Toyota, was taken to the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle with serious injuries.

Cumbria Police said the families of those involved are being supported by specially trained officers.

The M6 Northbound fully reopened in the early hours of this morning.

Cops are now appealing for witnesses following the horrific motorway crash.

Cumbria Police said in a statement: “Anyone with information relating to this incident can report online at www.cumbria.police.uk/report-it, quoting incident number 146 of 15 October 2024.

“You can also phone on 101.

“Alternatively, you can contact Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.”

Glasgow and Cambridgeshire locals along with other social media users wrote of their heartbreak following the tragic incident.

Another said: “God bless. R.I.P to the poor souls who lost their lives.”

A third called the news “absolutely heartbreaking”.
