Miami Gardens police swarmed the scene, roping off the entire plaza as crime scene tape surrounded the parked bus.
According to investigators, it all began with a disturbance onboard the bus.
Police say the driver got into “an argument or disagreement of some sort” with passengers before it got heated.
At some point during the altercation, police said the driver pulled out a gun and shot two male passengers, reports Local10.
Both victims were airlifted to HCA Florida Aventura Hospital in critical condition, but neither survived.
The bus driver is currently being detained as detectives dig into what led up to the deadly encounter.
Police have not yet confirmed whether the passengers were armed or if the driver will face charges.
The investigation remains ongoing.
It comes after at least three people were dead and another 15 injured in a devastating mass shooting at a park in New Mexico.
A 16-year-old boy and two men aged 19 were among the victims killed in the shooting in the desert city of Las Cruces.
More than a dozen gunshot victims – aged between 16 and 36 – were rushed to all three local hospitals where they are currently being treated.
Cops have launched a manhunt for those behind the attack, with it not yet clear how many gunmen opened fire on the group of people.
Heartbreaking video shared online appears to show the shooting unfold with the sound of bullets ripping through the air followed by piercing screams as the victims ran for their lives.
As people ducked behind vehicles for safety, one man could be heard screaming “get in my truck” with people falling to the ground in panic.
In the background the revving of engines could be heard as the person filming the video frantically got in their vehicle and fled the immediate area.
The suspect – or suspects – opened fire at around 10pm on March 21 in Las Cruces’ Young Park – a music and recreation venue.
Out of the three killed, two died on scene and the third in hospital, officials confirmed.
Meanwhile, a three-year-old girl fatally shot her baby sister in the head after finding a loaded gun in her home.
The girl’s dad has been arrested and charged with murder after his daughter shot the one-year-old with his gun.
The one-year-old was taken to Wesley Medical Centre where she was pronounced dead.
The fatal shooting happened back in February after Michael Tejeda, 25, allegedly left the gun lying around in his home in Wichita, Kansas.
Tejeda had been looking after the girls while their mum was out, and told the cops he had fallen asleep while watching TV at around 6pm.
