New York Police Department officers responded to the stabbing at 7:20 am and found a 28-year-old man who had been stabbed in the abdomen and another 32-year-old man who had been stabbed in the abdomen and buttocks.

Both men said the same suspect attacked them at the mezzanine level of the Grand Central-42nd Street subway station.

The 28-year-old victim flagged down an NYPD officer while the 32-year-old made it upstairs into Grand Central Terminal and alerted an MTA officer, police told The U.S. Sun.

No arrests have been made for the crime, and the suspect fled the scene following the stabbings.

The EMS immediately responded and brought the victims to a local hospital in stable condition.

The motive for the stabbing remains unclear.

The stabbing comes just two days after a man was arrested for stabbing two officers working at a criminal court in Manhattan.

The court officers were attacked at 9:45 am on June 16, according to The Associated Press.

At the time of the assault, the officers were guarding the magnetometer in the southern portion of the lobby.

Officers rushed to stop the attacker and disarmed him before putting him under arrest.

The victims remain unnamed, but court spokesperson Al Baker said they sustained injuries related to slashing and stabbing.

Three other officers responding to the incident were also injured.

The stabbing was allegedly a “targeted attack,” according to Baker, on the officers working security shifts at the courthouse.

“The assaults, captured on surveillance video, appeared preliminarily to be a targeted attack of the uniformed officers working security details at the courthouse,” Baker said.

Statement from the NYPD

The NYPD told The U.S. Sun:

On Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at approximately 0720 hours, police responded to a 911 call of a person stabbed at Grand Central Terminal (Mezzanine) within the confines of the Midtown South Precinct / Transit District 4.

Upon arrival, officers were informed a 28-year-old male had been stabbed in the abdomen and a 32-year-old male stabbed in the abdomen and buttocks by an unidentified individual.

The individual fled the location in an unknown direction. EMS responded and transported the victims to NYC Health and Hospitals / Bellevue in stable condition.

There are no arrests, and the investigation remains ongoing.

The suspect’s name or charges have not been released.

“I’m relieved to hear these two court officers are stable after this horrific attack in New York City this morning,” New York Attorney General Letitia James posted on X.

The attacks led New York State Supreme Court Officers Association President Patrick Cullen to call for a safer work environment for employees, ABC affiliate WABC reported.

“Within just a couple of days of launching a widespread advocacy campaign making the public aware of the severe safety deficiencies in our courts, OCA was in Brooklyn draining more personnel resources, while in Manhattan Criminal Court, two Court Officers were stabbed with one officer sustaining serious wounds to his face and neck.

“What will it take for court leaders to take the appropriate action to secure these facilities?

“Our members aren’t safe, and neither is the public. The time to act is now!”
