Two women stabbed near city centre sparking major hunt for knife attacker as police helicopter deployed

TWO women have been stabbed near a city centre – and their attacker remains on the loose.

Police and paramedics services raced to reports of a disturbance at around 4.20am yesterday.

Two women, aged 25 and 51, were found with stab wounds and rushed to hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries.

A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: “At approximately 4.20am Wednesday, March 12 2025, we were called to reports of a disturbance at an address on Cambridge Avenue, in Whalley Range, south Manchester.

“Emergency services arrived at the scene and found two women aged 51 and 25 were found with stab wounds.

“They were taken to hospital for treatment with injuries believed to be serious but not life threatening.

“No arrests have been made at present. Enquiries are ongoing.”
