UFOLOGISTS have begun a search operation in a frozen lake for the remains of a UFO that crashed into the water 77 years ago.
The suspected alien spaceship was seen by locals living in the village of Roros, Norway back in 1947 – and has remained a point of interest ever since.

And now, 77 years later, researchers have begun a fresh search to hunt down the suspect alien spaceship after sonar unveiled a 46-foot-long object under the surface of Lake Djupsjoen.
Legend says in 1947, the mayor of the village of Roros witnessed a strange object fall near his home which ended up crashing into the lake.
The story has been passed on ever since.
Photographer Rue Røstad said: “[The UFO] looked like a rocket and it made a lot of noise.
“It turned 180 degrees and landed in the lake behind us.”
While multiple investigations have since been carried out to bring out the truth, almost all efforts failed to find the suspected alien spaceship in the waters,
But Rue decided not to give up on his hunt for UFOs.
He gathered a team and resources to kick-start the search operation.
“We found an object that is located just below this hole,” the photographer said.
“It measures fourteen meters long and three meters wide. “
The first sonar images, which do show an object lying underwater, look promising.
And a documentary on the incident is underway, the local media reports.
Norwegian ufologist and member of the Norwegian UFO Center Arnulf Loken said: “It’s really exciting.
“It is one of the largest UFO search operations in Norway’s history.”

It comes after documentarians released pictures of bizarre three-fingered “alien mummies” while probing whether the infamous figures are fake or alien.
These never-seen-before photos, shared exclusively with The Sun, show the creatures, which were reportedly uncovered in a mountain mine in Peru.
The 4-foot-tall creature, seen curled up in a ball, has undergone testing, while another 9-foot tall specimen has also been discovered.
Investigative filmmakers Serena DC and Michael Mazzola plan to present more “incredible” evidence of new beings at a press conference in West Hollywood on March 12.
Meanwhile, a circular UFO was seen hovering over the Ukrainian warzone as it baffled troops and drone detectors.
And a former US soldier has claimed he spent three months on an extraterrestrial spaceship after meeting two aliens 60 years ago.
