It came into force at midnight and is in place until 11am today, during which meteorologists warn: “Heavy rain may cause some flooding and disruption to travel.”

It comes as a band of heavy rain moves east across southern parts of England and Wales this morning.
The Met Office predict 10mm to 20mm of rain falling on average, while the worst hit areas could see up to 40mm.
Meteorologists added: “The heaviest rain will fall during the morning before easing and turning more showery by afternoon.
“Strong winds, gusting 40 mph near coasts, will accompany the rain.”
Meanwhile, temperatures will remain chilly across the UK, with areas on the south coast just climbing to double figures in the afternoon.
