DOWNPOURS are set to drench Britain tonight with the Met Office issuing yellow weather warnings.
Heavy rain is likely to cause flooding across the country – sparking travel chaos for the weekend.

It comes after forecasters warned snow is likely to hit in days.
The Met Office is predicting a wintery weekend as Brits gear up for the festive season with a blanket of the white stuff forecast to settle in higher parts of northeast of Scotland.
Spells of rain are set to start coming down around 9pm today, and it’s not likely to let up until tomorrow afternoon.
A yellow weather warning is in place for the south west of the country, covering Plymouth, up to St David’s and across to Portsmouth.
The Met warned it could see homes and businesses flooded, make driving conditions dangerous, and cause delays and cancelations to train and bus services.
Looking ahead to the weekend, Meteorologist Aidan McGivern said it would be a wet one for most.
He said the rain would have “set in” by the time most Brits wake up tomorrow morning.
It will also be single-digit temperatures for much of the UK.
McGivern said: “It is going to be windy and wet, it’s not going to feel very pleasant out there as we begin the weekend.
“The rain falling onto saturated ground towards the south west and parts of Wales, it could cause some issues.
“But the heaviest of the rain does move through by lunchtime, pushing into eastern and then clearing eastern parts by the end of the day.
“Elsewhere it says largely cloudy, a lot of low cloud hugging the hills but it’s also going to stay blustery with further heavy showers pushing into Scotland and Northern Ireland – perhaps the odd rumble of thunder here as well.
“In between there will be some drier and possibly brighter interludes. All in all, it is a windy, cloudy and at times soggy day.”
Looking to Sunday, he said: “We’re back to a mixture of clear spells and blustery showers.
“It also stays mild on Sunday but it will trend back to average or perhaps later in the week, below-average temperatures are expected.”
A number of flood warnings also remain in place across the country, which have been laid out on the government website.
The site also lists a whopping 84 more flood alerts, which are scattered across the UK.
This comes as dozens of flood warnings and a yellow weather warnings were issued after Storm Debi wreaked havoc on Brits this week.
The chaotic weather saw travel disruption and power outages hit the UK for days as the fourth storm of the season swept across the country.
