Sally, from Great Cressingham, worked as a funeral administrator at the East of England Co-op Funeral Services branch.
The cause of her death was given at the opening of an inquest as “contusion and compression of the chest by an external object” on Thursday.
Her death is understood to have involved a hoist and heavy lifting, The Eastern Daily Press reported.
She was pronounced dead at the scene.
An inquest at the Norfolk Coroners’ Court is now adjourned until April 5.
Norfolk Constabulary and Breckland Council are also investigating how she died.
A Co-op spokesman said the company was “deeply saddened” by the “tragic accident”.
“Sally worked for our Co-op for over eight years and her care and experience will be truly missed by those in and around Swaffham, as well as her colleagues.
“First and foremost in our mind are the family and friends of our colleague,” he said.
“We offer them our deepest condolences and ask that their privacy is respected at this time.”
During the short hearing at County Hall, details provided to the court by her daughter, Lucy Blundell, were read out senior coroner for Norfolk Jacqueline Lake.
