POLICE have released CCTV footage of a man they are hunting for following a pub attack where a man’s face was slashed.

A 33-year-old football fan received “life-changing facial injuries” after the attack in a North London pub in April last year.

The attack happened during the table-topping clash between Manchester City and Arsenal at a Tollington Park pub on the 26th.

The Met said both men were watching the televised match before a brief altercation erupted at around 8.30pm.

The suspect allegedly produced a knife and then brutally slashed the victim.

The attack left a deep cut from the victim’s left cheek to his lip and he is still receiving treatment 10 months later.

The suspect then fled before police arrived while the victim was taken to hospital by paramedics.

The Met said that following extensive enquiries they are now asking the public for help.

That match saw tensions run high with the City win seeing them leapfrog Arsenal on the table and eventually win the title race.

Detective Constable Danitza Iniesta, from the local policing team in Islington, labelled the attack a “horrific act of violence”.

He said: “The pub was busy with people who were watching the Arsenal v Manchester City game that night. We believe the victim and suspect spoke a few times throughout the evening without issue, before this horrific act of violence unfolded.

“If you were there that evening, or you know the man pictured, I urge you to contact us immediately.”
