POLICE have launched an urgent hunt for a man they would like to speak to after a passenger threatened to detonate a grenade on a packed train.
The British Transport Police have released CCTV images of a man they would like to speak to following the incident, which took place on a train between Skegness and Nottingham.

A passenger who was spotted swearing on the train was approached by a train guard and asked to stop.
The passenger then pulled a grenade from his bag and pulled the pin on it in response to the guard.
Thankfully, the little bomb didn’t detonate and the passenger claimed to be joking.
The passenger went on to continue acting threateningly towards other passengers with the grenade still in their possession.
They eventually left the train at Boston with police launching a probe into the terrifying incident.
The harrowing experience unfolded on Sunday, May 18, with The British Transport Police now releasing images of a man they would like to speak to.
A statement given out alongside the images reads: “Do you recognise this man?
“Officers would like to speak to the man in the image as they believe he may have information which could help their investigation.
“Anyone who recognises him or who has any information is asked to contact British Transport Police by texting 61016 or by calling 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 392 of May 18, 2025.”
