AN URGENT hunt has been launched for a man who struck a baby in the face in front of its horrified mum after stealing from a shop in Bedlington.
Cops said a man left a Spar store in the Northumberland town at 10.05am on September 13 without paying for several items.

As he passed the local Post Office, the man crossed paths with a woman carrying a seven-month-old baby.
The man allegedly struck the baby and made off from the scene, leaving the child with facial injuries.
Cops have now issued a CCTV snap of a man who was in the area at the time, and who may be able to assist the investigation.
The man or anyone who knows him should call Northumbria Police on 101, quoting crime reference 115171D/23.
