Narayanan gave his carers the slip in a park while on escorted leave from his mental health care facility.

Scotland Yard has appealed this morning for help finding Narayanan, who has been on the run for five days.

The Met said: “While our investigation to locate Balasankar continues, we are appealing to the public to help locate him.

“He can be violent and is considered a risk to women – if you see him please don’t approach him, but call police immediately.”

Narayanan has links across London, notably Newham, Greenford, Hammersmith, Highgate and Ilford.

He is also linked to the West Midlands and has also been found in Manchester and the Essex town of Grays.
