And the Englishman admitted that he was ‘very grateful’ to have clinched the title after beating Dutch icon Michael van Gerwen and World No1 Luke Humphries on his way to the top.
But Cross will have to pull out all the stops once again if he is to retain his crown with some of the world’s best taking part in New York this year.
This includes teen sensation Luke Littler, who is determined to put his shock World Cup of Darts early exit with Humphries behind him.

The US Darts Masters 2025 will take place on Friday, June 27.
It will then conclude the following day – Saturday, June 28.
The Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York is the chosen venue for this thrilling competition.
First round and quarter-final matches will be best of 11 legs, the semi-finals are set to be best of 13 legs, and the final is best of 15 legs.
