SIR Keir Starmer has shrugged off a petition signed by more than TWO MILLION Brits demanding a snap general election.
The PM dismissed the growing backlash and insisted he is “not surprised” people want a re-run.

Appearing on ITV’s This Morning, the PM argued frustration is inevitable as his Government is focused on doing the “difficult things first”.
He said: “I remind myself that very many people didn’t vote Labour at the last election.
“I’m not that surprised that many of them want a re-run.
“That isn’t how our system works.”
He went on: “The thing is, if you make your mind up, as I have done, that we’re going to do the difficult things first, then I think it’s inevitable that people do feel their difficult decisions…”
The petition, which accuses Labour of breaking election promises and calls for a fresh election, has exploded since being launched by small business owner Michael Westwood.
It now stands at nearly two million signatures, gaining tens of thousands of names every hour after being shared by right-wing politicians and figures.
Tech mogul Elon Musk, the owner of X and a member of US President Donald Trump’s incoming administration, shared a post claiming that the petition had broken a record for the fastest time to reach 100,000 signatures, branding the claim “interesting”.
Reform UK leader Nigel Farage MP and his deputy Richard Tice MP shared the petition on Sunday, with Farage saying he’d “never seen anything like it”.
Shadow Business Secretary Andrew Griffith also shared a link on X, saying: “If this Labour government were a consumer product, after Rachel Reeves’s Budget tax rises (‘we have no plans to increase tax’) people could return it under consumer misselling rules.”
The Prime Minister’s Great Escape
SIR Keir Starmer found himself in a tight spot this weekend – literally – as he joined his daughter in an escape room for her birthday.
Revealing his family adventure, the Prime Minister told ITV’s This Morning: “She insisted we go to one of these escape rooms where you get locked in and have to solve clues to get out.
“When she first said it, I thought, ‘Great! I’ll have a nice cup of coffee and see you when you’re done.’
‘But she said ‘you are in there with me’. So we did it yesterday.”
The PM also shared another glimpse of his family life, revealing his go-to-dish is a cheesy pasta bake.
