Johnny Walker and Magomed Ankalaev were only halfway through the first round of their UFC 294 clash when it came to an abrupt halt.

Walker was left grounded after being hit by Ankalaev’s illegal knee.

It saw referee Dan Movahedi summon a UFC doctor to check on Walker.

After asking him several questions, the doc bizarrely said to Mohavedi: “He is not good to continue.”

This saw the referee wave off the fight, leaving both Walker and Ankalaev stunned.

Walker was particularly incensed as he attempted to resume the fight.

But after being blocked by Mohavedi, he shoved the ref away to get at Ankalaev.

Both fighters had to be restrained by security as UFC chief White entered the ring to a chorus of boos.

White said: “Don’t start some s**t in here. Relax. Go over there and f*****g relax.”

Walker and Ankalaev continued to exchange verbal blows as the match was officially ruled a no-contest.

Fans reacted angrily on social media, with one saying: “He needs to go to jail.”

Another declared: “That doc won’t be asked back in a hurry.”

One noted: “The ref shouldn’t call the fight off even if the doctor says he’s not fit to continue.”

Another added: “Walker has played a blinder, didn’t lose and looks a hero for ‘wanting to fight on’.”
