WATERLOO Station was evacuated after a fire alarm – causing travel chaos for commuters.
A photo shared on social media shows metal doors blocking off the entrance to the central London station’s Underground this morning.

A sign says: “Emergency: Do not enter.”
In a video posted on X, an announcement can be heard saying: “Ladies and gentleman, your attention. Due to a reported emergency, all passengers leave the station immediately.”
One person described the situation as “fun and games”.
They added: “Due to the fire alarm being activated in Waterloo tube station, it’s closed and no Underground services from any lines are stopping there.
“As a result I’ve had to come to Charing Cross and get SouthEastern to Waterloo East.”
Transport for London posted at around 7am that the station had reopened.
It is unclear if there was actually a fire.
Waterloo is Britain’s largest station in terms of floor space, and has the greatest number of platforms.
However, it is smaller than both Liverpool Street and Paddington.
