BRYSON DeChambeau warned Europe’s Ryder Cup stars to expect a ‘tsunami of a crowd’ in the showdown in New York.

The brash American fired a blistering 64 in the final round of The Open to all but book his place in the September showdown at Bethpage Black.

And he could hardly speak with emotion when asked what he will bring to the team.

He said: “I hope I can bring a lot of energy and a tsunami of a crowd that’s going to be rooting for Team USA.

“This year’s no joke. We’re tired of it. We’re tired of losing.”

The fans are Bethpage Black need no encouragement to be raucous. Sergio Garciawas heckled so badly at the 2002 US Open that he gave the fans the middle finger.

And Xander Schauffele’s father said he will boycott the event, saying: “I’m afraid of what’s going to happen in New York.”

DeChambeau also revealed the US captain Keegan Bradley left personalised gifts for his team this week.

He said: “I talked with him briefly, and then he put something in our lockers that was pretty inspirational.”

Europe hold the Ryder Cup after a 161⁄2–111⁄2 in Rome in 2023.

DeChambeau took his LIV Golf form to The Open – but much too literally.

The Saudi-backed rebel tour only plays three rounds to decide the winner.

And DeChambeau managed three fantastic rounds on the Northern Ireland coast – shame for him that they play over 72 holes in Major championships.

If you discounted his first round nightmare 78, DeChambeau could well have won at Portrush after he completed scores of 65, 68 and 64.

He was +7 for the first 18 holes, and then -16 for the remaining 54.

DeChambeau said: “I’ve been working on myself and how I am and how I act act.

“I had to transition my brain to say, ‘Look, I’m going to give it everything I have tomorrow, no matter what happens. I’m going to go full force, attack like it’s Sunday of a major championship’ — and that’s what I did.”
