King’s newest gig, which he requested, has focused on voters in battleground states for the 2024 presidential election.
King said in a statement at the time: “This is my ‘back to the future’ dream assignment.
“It is my tenth presidential cycle and, given the stakes, I felt it was time to get back to my roots reporting across the country.”
King’s ex-wife, Dana Bash, took over his spot as the Inside Politics anchor.

The journalist has three children – Jonah, Hannah, and Noah.
