The popular sports channel – which has had coverage of the Olympics, major snooker tournaments, tennis grand slams and plenty more – will be replaced very soon.

Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) owns both Eurosport and TNT Sports and decided it would be in the best interest of their company to merge the two.
The move comes amid rumours that the company is also looking to purchase the rights for the currently free-to-air Six Nations.
SunSport has everything you need to know about Eurosport being removed from British television.
When is Eurosport being taken off air and will it cost money to replace it?
Eurosport 1 & 2, Eurosport Player and the Eurosport app are closing on Friday, February 28.
Until now, Eurosport has been a part of Sky TV and Virgin Media TV packages at no extra cost.
TNT Sports is also available to those customers – however it is as an add-on to certain subscription packages and comes with a separate cost.
This means that sports like cycling, snooker, skiing and more will now become more expensive to watch for UK customers.
WBD have confirmed that certain events and programming will be shown free-to-air on Quest, but has not yet announced exactly which sports that will be.
The move also spells changes for the Discovery+ app.
Sky customers currently receive access to Discover+ at no extra cost, but that plan is being discontinued by WBD.
Customers will be downgraded to a Discover+ Basic plan – which currently has no sport channels or content, although this may change.
Virgin Media exclusively confirmed to The Sun earlier this month that regular Eurosport viewers will be offered TNT Sports for FREE for the remainder of their contract.
They will have to pay full price the next time their contract is up for renewal.
What is happening to Eurosport channels?
Eurosport 1 & 2 and TNT Sports are merging, meaning all Eurosport content will now be absorbed into TNT Sports.
The move is part of an initiative by Warner Bros, who own both Eurosport and TNT Sport, to try and make sport accessible in just one place.
TNT Sports will now be the main provider of both the 2026 Winter Olympics and 2028 Summer Olympics.
WBD Sports Europe chief Scott Young said: “Combining Eurosport and TNT Sports content in the UK and Ireland will enable us to offer a single, premium viewing experience for sports fans.
“We know audiences are looking for a slightly simpler journey on where to find the sport they love.
“This move will also continue to best deliver value for our leagues and federation partners, as we continue our 35 years plus commitment to investment and championing of sport on our screens.”
This is just the start – more changes ahead
Analysis by Jamie Harris, Assistant Technology and Science Editor at The Sun
Broadcasting is going through an almighty shift at the moment with the push toward streaming at a key point.
Despite this latest move, Discovery+’s days are likely numbered.
The streaming service has closed in several countries already to make way for a replacement, Max, bringing HBO and Discovery content under one roof.
The UK is one of the few big markets where Max hasn’t launched yet because of existing agreements with Sky, allowing Sky Atlantic to air big HBO-made hits like Game of Thrones and The White Lotus.
But the pair recently announced a new deal that will pave the way for Max’s launch in the UK early 2026 as a standalone app, while Sky customers will get access at no extra cost.
So expect even bigger changes in the TV and streaming world next year.
Will Eurosport be affected in other countries?
No, the merge will not affect Eurosport outside of the UK and Ireland.
How to subscribe to TNT Sports?
TNT Sports subscriptions start at £30.99 as a package on Discovery+, with alternative options available on TV packages.
Sky, EE and Virgin Media also offer options to add TNT Sports channels to subscription plans at an extra cost.
Prices vary.
