What happened when Amanda Serrano fought Katie Taylor?
Serrano vs Taylor was the first women’s boxing match to headline Madison Square Garden.
It was held on April 30, 2022, and described as the “biggest women’s fight of all time”.
Taylor defeated Serrano by split decision in what was named Fight of the Year by Sports Illustrated.
A rematch was scheduled to go ahead on May 20, 2023, in Dublin however Amanda was forced out of the fight due to injury.
She has since said that she thinks the rematch will not be rearranged.
Speaking on The MMA Hour, Amanda said: “Maybe [it will only be] delayed if she comes out on top, beating Cameron, which I don’t think that will happen.
“But if she does, then maybe the rematch with me will happen.
“I just hope that Katie does the right thing and she wins.”
