Who is Jon May?
Jon May is a TikTokker who has earned thousands of followers for setting himself a challenge.
He is attempting to drink 2,000 pints in 200 days, and it looks like he might just do it.
There’s nothing like a pint after a hard day, but fitting in so many wouldn’t be so easy.
Jon has managed to win the hearts of the nation and has been dubbed a national treasure – with some calling for him to be given a knighthood.
Jon tends to share videos on his TikTok page answering questions and telling followers how many pints he managed to drink the previous day.
While carrying out his challenge he has managed to gain 123,000 followers, as of October 2023.
How many pints does Jon May have left to drink?
When posting his final day update on his TikTok page, Jon said he had nine more pints to reach his goal of 2,000 in 200 days.
He revealed that so far he has spent a grand total of £7,964 as well as 362,362 calories which is an average of 1820.9 calories just on pints per day.
In a clip Jon said that he “cannot believe” that he is at the end of the challenge.
He is finishing off his huge feat at the Market Tavern pub in Atherstone, Warwickshire, and has invited anyone who wants to go, to join him.
After he has finished, Jon said that he would like to become a drink-reviewer.
Has anyone else completed the 2,000 pints in 200 days challenge?
It has not been reported that any one else has managed to drink 2,000 pints in 200 days before.
Another TikTok star set a challenge to drink 1,000 pints in a year, but Jon thought he could take this to the next step.
Despite many being impressed by Jon’s achievement, some have also wondered how it has been impacting his health.
One person said: “As amazing as this is, I do wonder if it will have any long-term health effects following.”
According to the NHS website, men and women shouldn’t drink more than 14 units of alcohol a week on a regular basis.
This is equivalent to six pints of average-strength beer or 10 glasses of lower-strength wine.
However, it is recommended that drinking should be spread out over three or more days rather than all in one go.
If you are wanting to cut down on your drinking, you should try to have several drink-free days a week or opt for alcohol-free options instead.
