Defending champion Luke Littler will be back to defend his crown after a strong 2025, and Premier League Darts champion Luke Humphries will be looking to reclaim his crown.
Michael van Gerwen will also be hoping for a strong showing, having suffered a relatively poor 2025 after losing to The Nuke in the final last time around.
And, they will be joined by Tim ‘The Magnet’ Pusey, who has one of the riskiest nicknames in darts ahead of his World Darts Championship debut this December!
SunSport can share everything to know about Tim Pusey, and whether he can keep his nickname.
Who is Tim Pusey and why is his nickname The Magnet?
Tim Pusey is an 33-year-old Australian darts player.
His nickname ‘The Magnet’ is an innuendo about females being attracted to him, due to his nickname sounding similar to another name for female genitalia.
Will Tim Pusey have to change his nickname for the World Darts Championship?
The PDC are yet to officially confirm whether or not Tim Pusey will be allowed to keep his nickname for the winter showdown at Ally Pally.
However, in 2023, Owen Bates qualified for the tournament, and was banned from using his nickname ‘The Master,’ an innuendo with similar connotations to that of Tim Pusey.
While there are no official rules on the World Darts Championship’s nicknames, the PDC can prohibit offensive, vulgar or inappropriate nicknames.
