The charity founder is said to have passed away peacefully following a birthday party with friends and family.

Who was Camila Batmanghelidjh?

Camila Batmanghelidjh was an Iranian-Belgian author, psychotherapist and former Charity executive.

Her parents met and married in London whilst her father was studying, before heading back to Iran.

Her birth was two-and-a-half-months premature and she was not expected to survive.

She later developed learning disabilities such as dyslexia and an endocrine disorder which affects her weight.

Camila attended chool Dorset before graduating with a first class degree in Theatre and the Dramatic Arts from the University of Warwick in Warwickshire.

She was born in 1963 in Iran before eventually relocating to London in 1991 when she founded her first charitable organisation, The Place To Be. This was a family services unit based out of Southwark, London.

Kids Company was a charity that was founded by Camila back in 1996. The aim of the charity was to aid children who had been impacted by abuse, violence, sexual trauma and gang violence.

Over the course of its existence, Kids Company claimed to have helped over 36,000 children and young people.

Kids Company shut down amid allegations of mismanagement and the squandering of funds.

It is unclear whether or not the charity boss was in a relationship with anybody.

It is stated that she passed surrounded by friends and family, with no mention of a partner. So her relationship status is unclear.
