Bosses at London’s Lyric Hammersmith are worried theatre-goers who shell out up to £45 a ticket will be upset by the gory production.
And their trigger warning says: “Morgan Lloyd Malcolm’s Dracula — based on the novel by Bram Stoker — contains themes of gender-based violence, including visual allusions to sexual assault; death, including of children; blood; abduction; depictions of grief and distress following trauma; the use of weapons; and reference to hanging.”
Last week, The Sun reported Hamlet audiences were being warned of “coercive behaviour” at London’s National Theatre.
It prompted actor Brian Blessed to label theatre bosses “ignorant pigs”.
Flash Gordon star Brian, 88, has appeared in Henry V, Macbeth and Much Ado About Nothing.
He told a sci-fi convention: “It’s bs. It’s f***ing Shakespeare.
“He is the greatest writer on the planet.
“People see his plays the length and breadth of this country and they are full of amazing things.”
There have also been alerts on Romeo and Juliet, and Macbeth.
The Lyric Hammersmith was asked to comment.
