A WOMAN has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after wading into a river at Cobden Bridge in Southampton with two young children.
The unnamed woman, 31, was seen in the water at Riverside Park with the two young kids at around 3.30pm on Thursday afternoon.

All three people were pulled from the water and were treated at the scene by paramedics.
The incident sparked a major emergency services response with the bridge closed in both directions.
Police say a 31-year-old woman was arrested at the scene.
However, they were unable to confirm the relationship between the woman and children and the ages and genders of the children.
A police spokesperson said: “We were called at 3.38pm following reports that a woman had entered the water near Cobden Bridge with two young children.
“Emergency services attended the scene and all three people were recovered and received treatment.
“A 31-year-old woman from Southampton has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
“Cobden Bridge was temporarily closed but has since been reopened. We will be conducting enquiries in the area.”
Police also said this was an isolated incident and there are no wider threats to the community.
Last month, cops launched a criminal probe in the city after a human placenta was found by a schoolboy in Holly Brook Park.
Officers were called on June 21 after a 15-year-old, who was walking to school with two pals, discovered the placenta.
