A WOMAN died in a city centre hotel yesterday as guests were “warned not to leave” their rooms.

The female was found unconscious inside the Lord Nelson Hotel on Hotham Street in Liverpool at around 1.40pm.

Emergency services attended the scene, but she was sadly pronounced deceased.

The force said an investigation is ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the incident and the cause of her death.

It was reported locally that guests staying in the hotel were being told not to leave their rooms.

Forensics in white suits could be seen going in and out of the hotel yesterday afternoon.

Part of the street was also cordoned off by the police.

A Merseyside Police spokesperson said: “If you have any information that could assist the investigation, you can call 101 or DM @MerpolCC on social media, quoting log number 25000297013.

“You can also contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
