Woman in her 20s found dead inside car in Hackney alleyway as cops arrest man on suspicion of murder

A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a woman’s body was found in a car down an alleyway.

Cops were raced to the quiet street in Hackney, London before 7am today after reports a woman was fighting for her life in a vehicle.

Paramedics battled to save the woman’s life, but she was tragically pronounced dead at the scene.

Cops say they believe they know who the woman, in her 20s, is, and her loved ones have been made aware.

Met Police say a probe was launched and a man in his 20s was arrested nearby on suspicion of murder.

The horror unfolded on Whiston Road, Hackney and cops are urging witnesses to come forward.

Detectives Inspector Aytac Necati, Specialist Crime, said: “As my colleagues and I begin our work today, we are all mindful of the human tragedy here.

“The victim’s family will be provided with every possible support and I can assure them that the Met’s investigation will be conducted with rigour and professionalism.

“While enquiries are in their early stages, I believe the deceased and the man arrested were known to each other.

“A crime scene remains in place in Whiston Road. Local people can expect to see additional police officers in the area in the coming days, and I urge them to speak with these officers should they have information or concerns.”
