The body was tragically found under an archway, in a gated block of flats, near the entrance of a car park.
In a statement, the force said: “We were called at around 11.50am on Wednesday 27 November following reports of a sudden death in the Southampton area.

“The death is currently being treated as unexplained.
“Officers will now prepare a file for the coroner.
“We remain at the location and our enquiries into the circumstances of the death are ongoing.”
One woman, whose parents live near to the scene, said: “It’s very worrying that these things take place more and more often now and it’s scary, especially so close to my parents’ flat.
“My parents had no idea what had happened until they saw the white tent up. They could not believe it.”
Another local said: “I always park in the same place and today there was a police car there.
“There was more police here earlier on, they have less now.”
