The woman is said to have been boarding a train in Hartlepool when she is thought to have been attacked

Two grainy images have been put out by the BTP following reports of a woman being sexually assaulted.

A BTP spokesperson said that at around 11am on Thursday, July 31, a woman in her 20s was boarding a train at Hartlepool railway station when she was sexually assaulted.

“Officers believe the man in the images could have information that may assist their enquiries,” they said.

The man has dark hair and is wearing a khaki green tracksuit as well as a black Versace t-shirt and blue and black trainers.

Anyone who recognises him is asked to text BTP via 61016, or call 0800 40 50 40, using the reference 253 of 31 July.

Information can be given anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

The Sun Online has contacted the BTP for any further information.
